Molly Martinez, PhD, is a clinical psychologist specializing in OCD and anxiety in the Dallas metropolitan area, where she founded SOAR in 2018. Her passion is to help patients struggling with OCD get their lives back through effective, research-based treatment. Dr. Martinez and is also the founder of DFW OCD Treatment Specialists (DOTS), a consultation group for professionals seeking to gain more knowledge about OCD. She is a regular speaker at international professional conferences on the subject of OCD and related disorders. In 2023, Dr. Martinez was honored to join the faculty of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavioral Therapy Training Institute, where she teaches and mentors other professionals alongside world-renowned experts in OCD.

Dr. Martinez is passionate about her work and is also the loving mother of two daughters. An adventurer at heart, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places.

  • Dr. Martinez earned her PhD in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology from The Ohio State University. She completed her internship at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, affiliated with Northwestern University. Over the years, she has trained with and presented alongside leading experts in the OCD and anxiety field, many of whom she now considers mentors and friends.

  • Dr.Martinez works with individuals of all ages and families recover from anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related disorders such as body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), tics/Tourette disorder, and health anxiety. She also regularly treats comorbid conditions like depression, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), behavior disorders, and ADHD. Parent education and family involvement are integral to her treatment approach, whether working with children or adults.

  • Dr. Martinez has created a culture at SOAR that is grounded in science and committed to evidence-based practice. She and her team focus on empirically supported treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and skills training informed by dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). They are also familiar with Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) for OCD, although it is not yet offered at SOAR.  Dr. Martinez is licensed in Texas and is certified through PSYPACT to provide telehealth services in most states in the US

  • A regular speaker at international conferences like the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Anxiety Depression Association of America (ADAA), Dr. Martinez presents on a variety of topics including treatment selection for OCD (ERP, ACT & I-CBT), differential diagnosis, parenting children with OCD, telehealth benefits, emerging interventions, clinical ethics, and more. She also travels nationally to train therapists on evidence-based treatment for OCD as part of the faculty for the IOCDF’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute. 

  • In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Martinez is an advocate for patient rights, especially educating patients and therapists on legal access to in-network insurance benefits when seeing out-of-network specialists (check out our Insurance tab). She is also enthusiastic about mentoring therapists who are interested in specializing in the evidence-based treatment of OCD.

    • Diagnostic Assessment/Intake (60 min): $300

    • Individual Therapy (50 min): $250

    • SOAR is Out of Network with all insurance. Please see our guidelines on getting a network deficiency exception as a pathway to making treatment more affordable.

    • SOAR will provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
